Sofa, So Good-The Tale of an Underappreciated Piece of Furniture

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:23 AM

By J. Allen

I am there for you after a long day at work. I am there for you on the weekends, when all you want to do is plop yourself down and let the television wash over you. I am there for you when you rent a DVD to help turn your living room into the most comfortable theater around. I am even there for husbands who are unexpectedly expelled from the comfort of their beds by an angry wife. Iโm your sofa, and Iโm always there for you. Iโm probably the most underappreciated piece of furniture most of you own, yet also the most used. I am as reliable as a best friend and as consistent as the sunrise.

Choosing a new sofa can be as agonizing as choosing a new car. What kind of upholstery do I want? What color? Any special features? Am I going to like it a year from now, how about five years? Once Iโm brought home and put in my assigned place, though, Iโm all but forgotten. I become a fixture in your living room almost instantaneously, effortlessly blending in with my surroundings like a chameleon. I can eventually become an unofficial member of a family, a step below the dog and cat, but definitely above the goldfish.

I silently and steadfastly endure a ton of abuse. From spills to crumbs to pet hair, and anything else you can imagine, I sit there and take it. Scotch Guard or no, I do my best to repel every wine and soda spill and of course, every leaky diaper. Iโm also often vilified for doing nothing more than keeping valuables safe and sound. You accuse me of โeatingโ items such as earrings, loose change, and, of course, remote controls. This is a definite misnomer as I get plenty of nourishment from the aforementioned food and drink spills. Whatโs happening here is Iโm simply holding on to these items for you until you need them. Kind of like the safety deposit box you never knew about.

I require no thanks or fanfare for my loyalty and dependability. All I ask is that you try not to sit on my arms and that you please change any diapers on the carpet. You could probably mix in a salad and skip dessert every now and again too. Thatโs just me looking out for your health, though. Also, please donโt send me away to your teenagerโs apartment when youโre done with me. I deserve a more dignified retirement than that; Iโll take my chances at the Goodwill.

Best Adult Diapers

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:20 AM

By Steve Valentino

Adult diapers are available in an array of materials, sizes, brands, etc. They are available in almost all stores where diapers are sold and the most prominent diaper companies in the world manufacture them. Although all styles and types of adult diapers are useful to different users in different ways, there are few of them that can definitely be classified as the best for the quality and utility.

Despite all the innovations in adult diapers, cloth diapers till have their share in the regular market because they are reusable. They can be washed with water and detergent. There are often sold with complimentary sachets of powerful, fragrant detergent and this makes them very comfortable for many users. They are very cost effective and comfortable, especially when the user spends much of the time indoors. However, owing to the entry of the disposable age, many adults are using disposable diapers that do not require washing and are thrown away after each use. They are more expensive in the long run, but because they are easy to use and comfortable, many individuals don't mind spending the money. The best disposable diapers have a high absorbency. This attracts adult diaper wearers, as they don't want to have to change frequently when in public. Ingredients in the materials that prevent sores and diaper rash also usually accompany these diapers.

Thus, we see that the above-described diapers are the best in the adult diaper market and are most sought after by many individuals depending on their specific needs and choices.

How to Save Money on Diapers - Compare Prices of Diapers

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:17 AM

By Brandi Yates

Diapers alone for the first year can cost $1000 or more.

It is tempting to buy a small package of diapers because it seems cheaper at first.

Newborns grow very fast, however, and if you buy too many 1s or 2s you may be left with diapers you can't use. You may find that you can use the store brand diapers as they get older but I have always tried them and gone back to name brand.

On average a Jumbo pack of diapers cost $11.00 for about 40 diapers. This is average for Pampers, Huggies, and LUVS. You are paying approximately .26 per diaper this way. This is the average cost for 40 diapers Size 3.

For size 5 you will get about 30 diapers for .37 each for Pampers and Huggies at $11.00 for a Jumbo pack.

LUVS size 5 Jumbo pack of 30 diapers is .28 (each diaper) at $8.49 per pack.

For Extra Large Packages, LUVS are cheaper running about $36 a box for sizes 3,4, and 5.

LUVS Extra Large Boxes run just a few cents cheaper than Pampers about .18 - .24 cents each.

Pampers Extra Large Boxes are about $43 a box about .21 - .28 cents each.

LUVS and Pampers give you about 30-40 more diapers than Huggies Extra Large box at about .23 - .29 each.

So how can you beat these prices?

There are several ways:

Save your coupons!

If you haven't been saving your coupons you can buy them at a very low cost.

Another way to save is to comparison shop online. You can sign up to receive money back for your purchases and use discount codes at 1800diapers, etc.

Sign up at websites to receive coupons in the mail.

CVS will even let you use regular diaper coupons for pull-ups and pull-ups coupons for diapers and Goodnights, plus you can receive extra care bucks at at CVS.

Walmart usually has the best prices and they will beat competitor ads.

Choosing Baby Diapers

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:18 AM

By Harry Grazer

Just two decades ago, baby diapers did not figure prominently into new parents' shopping decisions. The only issues were how well you could keep them stocked and how easily you could get rid of them when they were used. Those were the heady pre-1990s days when the only diapers were the simple ones you'd get in the store in packs of 50, and cloth diapers were something only grandma remembered.

Nowadays, people have been reconsidering the awful wastefulness of disposable baby diapers and taking a second look at cloth. Cloth diaper cleaning services have stepped up to the challenge, providing a new range of options, and a new range of buying decisions. Meanwhile, disposable diapers now offer so many different features that you might feel as though you were buying from the Swiss Army catalog.

Disposable Baby Diapers vs. Cloth Diapers

As you might expect, disposable baby diapers are usually considered the most convenient option. But the picture is not so sweet-smelling for disposable diapers, nor are cloth diapers the horror you might imagine.

Disposable diapers cannot simply be thrown out in the wastebasket, unless you and everyone else in your house has a non-functioning sense of smell. You will need to take care to dispose of diapers in a hygienic way, often in the special baby diaper disposal unit.

Cloth baby diapers will often be handled the same way as cloth diapers: put in a special box or bag that will hopefully protect the nostrils of your home's residents. Only instead of throwing them out with the trash, you leave them out to be picked up by the diaper cleaning service in your area (naturally, you need to check that your area has such a service, look into whether it has door pickup service, and get yourself on the list, before you leave a steaming bag on your doorstep). You may also take the diapers to the company that will clean them for you.

Putting some glass pebbles in the bottom of a clear glass bowl and two-thirds fill the bowl with water. Floating frogs, rubber ducks or any plastic cartoon toys. The coolest idea is to have a family frogs or ducks, and add a few drops of blue food coloring to the water to make it like a pond.

For an Asian theme shower party, you can purchase Japanese lanterns at party supplies or craft stores. Use one lantern as the base of each arrangement and surround it with bamboo pots or votive candles. And have a traditional Japanese table setting to complement your baby shower centerpiece.

Most of baby shower hostesses make their own centerpieces as they love such a creative activity as well as it shows their love and support to the mom-to-be.

Believe It Or Not But Toddler Yeast Infections Are A Truth

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:16 AM

By Judy Wellsworth

You may not know it but there is a toddler yeast infection. Any baby can get a toddler yeast infection which commonly occurs in the moist diaper area. An toddler yeast infection will typically start out like a diaper rash, but it won't go away and it won't heal like a diaper rash. Babies can also get a condition known as thrush which is a yeast infection of the mouth. With this condition the cheeks, gums and tongue will develop white patches. You should take a baby to the doctor to have a toddler yeast infection properly diagnosed especially if you haven't dealt with an infection of this kind before.

Reasons for The Occurrence of Toddler Yeast Infection:

A tot with a toddler yeast infection will be a baby in distress which can be difficult for parents to deal with. Delivery can spread an toddler yeast infection such as a mother with a yeast infection or during breastfeeding if the mother also has a yeast infection. Although an oral yeast infection can develop in a baby even when there is no yeast infection present.

A toddler yeast infection can be experienced by both sexes. You will often think it is a diaper rash, but it won't go away after the typical one or two day period of diaper rash. Bacteria grow in warm, moist areas on both babies and adults. This is why women have extra concern in their vaginal areas although if a baby isn't attended to then the perfect environment for the bacteria can develop. Also a baby on antibiotics is more susceptible since the medication will kill the healthy bacteria that help to keep down a child yeast infection.

Treatment for Toddler Yeast Infection:

A toddler yeast infection can easily involve both the mouth and the diaper area since it typically spreads through a baby's digestive tract. Take a good look at your babies diaper rash and try to determine if there are a lot of pus-filled bumps or if they are forming a pattern. Often typical treatments for diaper rash won't work and it won't disappear on its own after awhile.

If you are a first time parent you will likely be very concerned and you will probably want to take the baby to the doctor right away to look at the rash. If the same child has a recurrent problem of yeast infections then perhaps your doctor can help with some suggestions on how you can prevent an infant yeast infection. For babies on antibiotics the condition may be around for the course of the medical treatment. Although the best treatment a parent can do is to keep the diaper area as dry as possible and don't fasten diapers too fast, be sure to leave some area for air circulation.

As is the case with all medical issues, the first step is to seek professional help. The reason that your yeast infections
are getting worse with regard to frequency must be determined so that a proper treatment regimen may be followed. This is particularly true for women who are living with a compromised immune system, undiagnosed or untreated diabetes or a parasite

You can also find more info on home remedy for yeast infection treatment and causes of yeast infection YeastInfectionTreatment.org is a comprehensive resource to help individuals with yeast infection to identify symptoms, prevention and treatment options.

One Hour - Every Day - At Four O'Clock

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:15 AM

By Veronica Hay

Every day at four o'clock, I stop whatever it is I am doing to watch my favorite soap opera. I take the phone off the hook, lock the door, sit with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, and escape. It has become an addiction. One that I like having.

Almost every time I do this, I am astounded at how much better the lives of these people are than mine. There are some basic facts, Ladies and Gentlemen, that apply only to soap opera people, the women in particular.

The women in soap operas are always extraordinarily beautiful. The women in soap operas do not walk across a room, they glide. The women in soap operas are never without a man for more than three hours at a stretch. That is, if their story book relationship is about to break up, you can always be assured that there is another Adonis waiting just around the scene. The women in soap operas never do laundry, clean toilet bowls, or vacuum. The women is soap operas never have a single hair out of place or a nail chipped. I remember one scene in particular that exemplified this because it paralleled the same situation in my life. I was at the airport saying goodbye to my friend. A young lady on the soap opera was at the airport saying goodbye to her lover.

I will never forget how she looked. One perfectly shaped tear glistened down her luminously made up face. The wind blew through her shining blonde hair. (I wondered at the time, where the wind came from in the middle of the airport). A Beethoven symphony was playing in the background, and dozens of beautiful, white, casablanca lilies cascaded around her from out of the sky, (there must have been a hole in the airport roof), as her lover took her hand in his, and kissed it tenderly.

In my scenario, there was considerably more than one tear. My face was not luminous, it was wet. It did not glisten, it was too drenched in mascara and pancake make up to glisten too much. The only music I recall was a strange looking fellow's sony walkman blasting something less than romantic in the background. I particularly remember this, because it drowned out the sound of whatever my friend was saying to me at the time. I have a strong suspicion it was goodbye, but I will never really know for sure.

Human beings behave differently on soap operas. Have you ever watched people go swimming on a soap opera? The women arrive at the pool in gold, laminated dresses enveloping their tiny bikinis, that match the gold flecks in their eyes. The men, I am sure, arrive straight from their previous employment with Playgirl magazine. If either party actually does manage to get wet, you can be assured that as they emerge out of the water, their hair suddenly parts perfectly, down the middle of their forehead, miraculously, similar to the parting of the red sea. The men's bodies glisten with oils. Somehow, a little man with an oil can must have been down there at the bottom of the pool. Many times, I have waited beside my pool, (such as it is), hoping some man, any man, would emerge, tanned and oiled like that, all to no avail.

And have you ever noticed what it is like being sick on a soap opera? It almost makes you want to run out and collect as many germs as you can find, just so you can get admitted to those wonderful places of recuperation. Terminal patients never look terminal on a soap. They look lovely. They lie in their perfectly made up Wamsutta down beds while being attended to by physicians that look remarkably like Robert Redford and Tom Cruise.

And most of them seem to have sudden and astounding recoveries. Of course, with doctors like those, who could blame them. Even the dead on soap operas look wonderful. If I really must go someday, please God, let it be on a soap. I would love the world to remember me that way.

Let's face it. The people on soaps do not attend to everyday realities. I do not recall even one soap opera person ever having to go the the john. I have given this much thought, and have decided that they just don't have to do that sort of thing. They go to the powder room, (it's much more civilized), to check that nothing is amiss, although God knows why, they couldn't possibly be improved upon.

People in soap operas don't cook much either. Rarely, have I seen anyone sweating over a hot stove. They hardly eat. That must be why they all remain so svelte. When they do feel the need to indulge, well, you can be assured it will be at their favorite local dining establishment. Probably a place called ๏ฟฝThe Escargot Room๏ฟฝ where they are greeted by a very distinguished frenchman named, Pierre, taken to their private table, where of course, their usual red roses, waterford crystal and candlelight awaits them. All of these details go without saying. They are often the only ones in the restaurant, so there is always plenty of room on the immaculately marbled dance floor.

It is here, of course, where the man, handsomely dressed in his tuxedo, whispers the most incredibly romantic things into the woman's ear. Things such as, ๏ฟฝDarling, you touch my soul with your eyes.๏ฟฝ I ask you, my friends, when was the last time your man said that to you?

Oh, and if it just happens to be a special occasion, such as an engagement, then a trio of violinists or a mini orchestra suddenly appears on the scene, and the lady is presented with a diamond ring, I am sure, borrowed from Elizabeth Taylor's collection, while sipping on her Dom Perignon.

As of late, it has also occurred to me that people on soap operas never seem to pay bills, floss their teeth, or change their kid's diapers. And you know something, I wouldn't have it any other way. If I wanted to watch that, I wouldn't have to turn on the TV. You can keep your reality. Give me Fantasy!

At least for one hour - every day - at four o'clock.

Breastfeeding Pillow Makes Feeding Fun For Both Mom And The Baby

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:20 AM

By apurva

A breastfeeding pillow is designed to make feeding times fun and comfortable for both mother and baby. It is rather difficult for the new mothers to sit up and breastfeed her baby, as her body feels sore and tired. Most moms have trouble breastfeeding their baby, as their aching back prevents them from enjoying the precious moments of bonding with their newborn baby. This is when a gift such as a breastfeeding pillow will be appreciated.

Breastfeeding Pillows

They are usually shaped like a "U" and can fit snugly around the mother's waist. The baby is placed on the pillow during nursing time, which greatly reduces the strain on the mother's aching back, arms and shoulders. It offers the lactating mother considerable relief from back pain and other such pregnancy symptoms that trouble a woman for long. A breastfeeding pillow makes feeding fun and enjoyable for both mother and baby.

They are meant to be used by the mother, who prefers sitting on a bed or a couch, as the rounded U-shaped pillow may not be comfortable if you insist on feeding your baby by sitting in a rocker. Parents, who wish to bottle-feed the baby, can use the breastfeeding pillow too. Fathers who wish to bottle feed the baby will find it just as comfortable to use it as mothers.

They are usually about 5" thick and need to be made of a material that is soft and at the same time firm. This is because; it should hold the baby comfortably, instead of causing the baby to sink into the pillow, making it hard rather than easy to feed the baby. Some of them comprises of three separate pillows that can be used as regular pillows after that baby has been weaned. Make sure that the filling is anti-allergic and that you can machine wash and maintain the pillow and cover easily. Getting a couple of spare covers is a good idea, as feeding times can become messy sometimes!

Do not buy a breastfeeding pillow that is rounded at the top or that is angled, as it may not make feeding times comfortable, instead makes it tough for the mother and her baby.

You may shop for a breastfeeding pillow that has pockets or provision for holding items such as a TV remote, burp clothes, diapers etc. If you are hesitating wondering if it will serve any purpose after the few months of breastfeeding, well relax, they can be used to support your baby, while he/she is trying to sit up. They are perfect gifts to give to the new mom or can be welcome gifts at a baby shower. They are inexpensive, but extremely functional accessories.

Most expectant moms shop for a maternity pillow during the third trimester. They do so as they gain considerable relief, as the pillow supports their Buddha belly, taking away the strain from their aching backs. A good night's sleep can help you deal better with the various pregnancy symptoms than after being awake all night long. The maternity pillow can become a breastfeeding pillow after childbirth, making it a very worthwhile investment.

Breastfeeding pillow is the most useful accessory that nursing mothers are sure to appreciate. They can help ease pregnancy symptoms such as back pain that the lactating mother may be experiencing during the baby's feeding times. For more information visit pregnancy period.

Methods Which Enable Parents To Do Toilet Training In Less Than A Day

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:21 AM

By Muna wa Wanjiru

Though a toddler may not think so, toilet training is indeed very important and necessary for a toddler especially if he is anywhere between eighteen and twenty four months old. Training involves certain methods that will enable your child to be motivated enough. He or she has to be made to feel that toilet training is just a natural process and not something that is forced or thrust upon him.

There are various methods of training that you can use to train your child without creating an aversion in him. One thing that must be remembered is that during any kind of a family stress you must avoid starting the process of toilet training them.

There are also methods which enable parents to complete their child's toilet training in less than a day. Though this may sound impossible for exasperated parents, it is worth giving it a try. All you need is a doll, a normal boy or girl underwear to replace the diaper, liquid in abundance for the doll and your child to drink, and not to mention a potty chair.

Before you go about trying to perform toilet training in less than a day for your child, make sure you wait until the child is at least two years old. Doll must be used for demonstrating the way or method to go potty.

Using the name of your child's favorite hero to motivate him or her is also a good idea.
Step one involves making your child teach the doll the method to go potty. After naming the doll play with your child and make him or her feed the doll with liquids.

After feeding the liquid, the doll has to be led by your child to the potty seat and the underwear has to be pulled down. Watching the doll going potty with your child will make him understand that he also has to do that after he has liquids.

The second step in toilet training in less than a day involves throwing a potty party for the doll which has been successful enough. This will immensely encourage your child to follow the good deed. Party can actually be made grand and memorable. Doing this will imprint the idea in his or her mind that going potty is actually a good thing.

If he thinks there will be an exciting party, he will also make an effort to do the same. You can actually put it across to your child that when he follows the doll's example he will have a party too.

The next step involves replacing your child's diapers with underwear's. He will actually relate this to the underwear you put on for the doll. After giving him a lot of fluids, you can start your training with him. He or she has had enough motivation by now.

Wait patiently for some time before the child actually asks to go for potty. This will eventually happen and make sure you do not scold him for occasional accidents.

When he is sufficiently trained, it is time for celebration.

Bedwetting Diapers Disposable Products For Older Bedwetters

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:14 AM

By Peter Crump

Bedwetting diapers are not just for infants and babies. They come in sizes all the way up to adult so that any one with a bed wetting problem can feel secure that he/she will not wake up to wet sheets in the morning. Along with ensuring you or your child a dry night, wearing diapers at night means you also have less mess to clean up. These diapers are disposable, so they wont add to your mounds of laundry. Actually, disposable bedwetting diapers will cut down on the amount of laundry that you have to do because you will no longer have to wash bedclothes each day.

Even with having bedwetting diapers for your child, you still have to pursue other methods for treating the problem of bed wetting. These diapers can give the child or adult a false sense of relief and not really do anything to help the problem at all. If there is a medical reason for the bedwetting, you know that using bed wetting diapers will probably be only a temporary measure. If there is no medical reason, then you need to combine using an adult bed wetting diaper each night with a method of behavior modification such as using an enuresis alarm to wake the wearer at the first sign of moisture.

There are bedwetting diapers that look just like underpants. This makes it much easier for your child to sleep at a friends house without anyone knowing about the bedwetting. These diapers have an absorbent liner that soaks up the urine and does not let it seep through to the pyjamas or the bedclothes. However, if the child is in bed for a long time, there is the possibility that some of the urine will seep out through the legs of the diapers causing an accident. The top layer of plastic on a bedwetting diaper helps to keep the moisture away from the skin.

You do have to be aware of the cost involved in using larger size disposable bedwetting diapers. This is why you do need to look for treatments that will not only reduce the number of bedwetting episodes, but will help cure the problem. There are child and adult bed wetting diapers that you can get that are reusable. This type of diaper is a cheaper alternative to the disposable bed wetting diaper. It also comes like a pair of underpants or a liner that fits on the underpants. With these adult bedwetting diapers, the person still feels wet, but the wetness does not seep through to the clothing. The wetness helps to wake the adult up so he/she can go to the bathroom.

You do have to choose the best bedwetting diapers for your child. Look at the liners, diapers and absorbent underpants to determine which one would best meet the needs of the child or adult. Liners are strips of absorbent material that have a sticky side that adheres to the underpants, thus keeping them in place. They are not noticeable and will not irritate the skin in the same way as some bedwetting diapers will.

Disposable diapers are made of chemicals that can harm your baby's skin!

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:19 AM

By Kalwant Rana

Congratulations on the new arrival! Caring for your little bundle of joy is a truly delightful experience, when you want to lavish all your love and attention over this one unique person. Nothing is good enough for your precious baby for whom, if possible, you would even buy the moon!

Naturally, you want the very best for your child, and with the countless baby products flooding the market, this means you can pick and choose to your satisfaction. Moreover, many options are available to the parent of today, and it is up to you to make up your mind about what's best for your child.

Is breast feeding better than the bottle, what brand of baby food is more healthy, or, oh dear, shouldn't the nursery be painted a mild and soothing green instead of all this pink? Should you opt for cloth or disposable diapers?
Are you doing the right thing? Help!

Relax. The most important thing when raising a child is to make sure it is healthy. Just as proper nutrition is essential for your baby's welfare, so is hygiene and cleanliness. While nutrition can be easily taken care of with regular feedings of milk, hygiene is a different matter. With little or no control over their bodily functions, babies expel a lot of waste, and keeping them clean can be a daunting task. The solution? Nappies, of course!

There are disposable nappies and cloth nappies. Disposable nappies are easy to use; use it once and throw it away. No washing, no fuss! However, disposable diapers are made of chemicals that can harm your baby's sensitive skin. Also, with its synthetic texture, disposable nappies are not comfortable, and babies are prone to develop rashes or allergies. Diapers made from natural fibres are a welcome change from disposable nappies as they are soft and soothing to the skin.

Raising a child also means rising expenses! A baby will go through up to a thousand or more diapers before his first birthday. Disposable diapers cost more than cloth nappies, but in this case, being expensive does not necessarily mean it's better. Cloth nappies are lower-priced and are reusable. So, one cloth nappy serves as well as many disposable ones.

To further cut expenses, using second hand cloth nappies is a good idea, and after your baby has outgrown them, it is recommended you donate them to other parents or reuse them for your next child, thereby reducing waste. If one baby will use more than a thousand diapers in a year, imagine the amount of garbage generated in a city from diapers alone! While disposable nappies contain chemicals that do not decompose, discarded cloth nappies are absorbed back into the environment, and are thus very eco-friendly.

In the modern nuclear family where both parents work, washing cloth nappies may seem a tedious process. A gentle wash in the washing machine solves this problem.

Some popular brands of cloth nappies are: the Bumble sized shape nappy, Rainbow Bots and, Prorap All in One Nappies. Terries are flat squares of terry towelling that can be shaped into nappies. These are all nappies that are sized, shaped and have a high second hand value, meaning they are very durable. Almost all brands of cotton nappies are made of light cotton-based material.

Comfort for your baby comes first, and with the menace of harmful chemicals in disposable diapers, cloth nappies seem the only solution. Comfortable, hygienic, eco-friendly, durable . . . with so many merits, it is no wonder cloth nappies are replacing disposable diapers everywhere.

There can be no doubt that cloth nappies are so good for your baby!

Toliet Training - Is Your Child Ready?

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:15 AM

By Alli Ross

Brought to You By: http://www.babynamebox.com

Are you tired of changin diapers day after day? Toliet training is a big step for any child. Toliet training can be kind of tricky because if your child is not ready this process can take quite a long time. However, if you wait too long the child may actually end up resisting your attempts. Fortunately, there are a few guidelines that you can follow.

What Age Should We Start?

The truth is that the age range for toliet training is a big one. Unlike first smiles or first steps you can easily expect a gap of several years of 'normal' toliet training ages. The usual age to begin is between 2 and 3 years old and can take, on average, 8 to 10 months. Many children will fall outside of these parameters and be completely healthy and normal.

More important than age is the child's readiness. You can look for signs of readiness including: staying dry for a couple hours, telling you when she has wet her diaper or when she is in the process, able to follow simple directions, coordinated enough to pull down her own pants and showing an interest in the toilet and how it's used.

How Should We Begin?

Let your child lead the way. Some children will need time to get familiar with the concept before using the toilet or potty. Let him sit on a potty or (if appropriate) allow him to watch another child use it.

If your child is accustomed to seeing parents or older siblings use the toliet they may prefer to use the 'big' toilet with a child's seat instead of a potty. Allow them to sit on the toilet when they ask or even offer them to try it. Don't expect anything to happen the first few tries.

Should We Use Rewards When Toliet Training?

Even experts debate the reward system, but if it works for your child it might be worth considering if they are having trouble staying interested in the process.

What if They Refuse to Go?

You may see that they are physically ready but you cannot be sure they are emotionally ready. If toilet training becomes a power struggle you will both lose. Your child ultimately has control of his or her body and will surely realize this, even if it means making himself sick.

Persistence and consistency are important since children often become bored after the initial excitement and may start having accidents or asking for diapers. However, if your child seems truly stressed or you know there has been a big event, such as a new baby in the house, you should probably give them some time to adjust or feel more comfortable before resuming the toliettraining.

If you ever feel anxious about your child's abilities or health in regards to toilet training you should consult your pediatrician who will be able to give you suggestions and ease your mind.

Do Girls Train Easier Than Boys?

While there is no documented evidence to say so, it appears girls often do 'get it' earlier than boys. However, every individual child will progress according to their own schedule. It's important that you find out what is best for your little one.

How to Make a Diaper Cake Centerpiece

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:30 AM

By Shawn Lim

Want to know as how to make a diaper cake centerpiece, so that it grabs the attention of guests, who come to your baby party or baby shower party. Then follow the tips as mentioned below for making a diaper cake attractive and memorable.

1. Centerpiece is the middle portion of your diaper cake, which you need to fill using the items such as baby lotions, hand sanitizer, balm, nail clippers and powder. You can also include bottle brush, and baby bottle.

2. While including these items, you can even either stuff the items directly in the center or place it on the outer side of the diaper cake.

3. Always, select quality products while making a diaper cake centerpiece. Use bigger diapers so that the cake becomes more stable. The size of the blanket also makes a lot difference. So, make sure that you choose big diapers, be it standard diapers or cloth diapers.

4. Only placing the tiers of diapers one above the other is not enough. You need to wrap them properly using cellophane, bands or ribbons, so that they look pretty as well as to keep the entire stuffed items at one place.

Centerpiece Based On Theme:

Use all your creativity to make the perfect style. Everyone appreciates theme-based diaper cakes. If the theme of the baby party is sea beach, you can include items such as miniature beach table, chairs, flip-flop, sun lotion, umbrella in the centerpiece. If the theme is Mediterranean, then include nuts, beads, colored flowers, bright scarves and coconuts in the centerpiece.

After including all the items according to the theme, you can add different colored sparkles and stars on top of the centerpiece and around the diaper cake to give it an affluent look.

Therefore, this is how you can make a diaper cake centerpiece.

You can learn how to make a beautiful diaper cake by 2 ways. One is by reading lengthy and boring books, and get tired after reading it. Or, the second way is by watching videos how to make a perfect diaper cake.

The concept is the same as learning to ride a bicycle, you cannot learn it from a text book. The same goes for making a diaper cake. If you are going to learn how to make a beautiful diaper cake, make sure you learn it the right way.

So do you want to learn how to make a beautiful diaper cake in just 23 minutes or less by simply watching videos? Click here. Or you can visit http://www.makediapercakes.com/ for more information.

Designer Baby Clothes Can Be Affordable

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:28 AM

By Hal Lewis

One of the biggest trends in fashion today is designer clothes for babies. Babies no longer have to dress in just pastel pajamas, or be limited by what is available to the masses at the local mart. Now babies can also wear one-of-a-kind (or nearly so) couture and boutique fashions, just like adults.

Some popular adult wear designers have also introduced a line for babies, such as Ralph Lauren, Lily Pulitzer, Tommy Hilfiger and Guess. These designer baby fashions can usually be found in the better departments stores, such as Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom's and Macy's. Department stores also feature other top brands of designer baby clothes like Little Me, Flapdoodles, Greendog, Icky Baby, First Impression, Little Bitty and Baby Nay to name just a few.

Some designers offer their clothes through their own catalog's and websites. A leader in this type of designer baby clothes is Hanna Anderson, who comes out with several new lines each season. Each line is available for infant through adult, with the adult and children clothes coordinating in each line. This designer has a certain number of clothing design styles that she is well known for, especially the Play Dresses with tights and leggings, and the organic cotton Jeeper Creepers and Wiggle Pants, with new colors and prints becoming available each season. At the end of each season, many items can be purchased at a great clearance price.

Another type of designer baby wear is the brand name clothing found in their own stores in shopping malls, especially Gymboree and The Children's Place. Prices may range from very inexpensive to quite pricey, depending on the store. Gymboree also comes out with several new lines each season, featuring several pieces and accessories available in each line. Gymboree has inspired a whole community of collectors and resellers who offer websites to keep track of all of the different lines, and people trade in order to get pieces in particular sets. Making purchases at Gymboree earns "Gymbucks" that offer 50% discounts on purchases over $50. The great thing about Gymbucks is that they can even be used on discounted sale merchandise. Some people will give away their Gymbucks if they are close to expiring - so check your local classified ads. There are also several outlets located throughout the U.S.

Finally there are the "boutique fashions". These are the designers who often design nothing but baby clothes, and their fashions may only be found at special baby boutiques. Baby boutique fashions run the gamut from widely available mass-produced fashions to hand-made unique specialty items. Some of the popular boutique brands include MishMish, CachCach, City Threads, Jack and Lily, Devi Baby, Dogwood, and Flowers by Zoe.

The great thing about designer baby clothes is their resale value. Baby clothes are sometimes worn just once or twice, but the lower cost brands are so readily available that they don't have the same resalable quality. You may be able to recoup a couple dollars or fifty cents at a garage sale, but when you purchase certain designer fashions, you are making an investment that you may be able to get your money back on. First, purchase your baby's designer wear, preferably on sale. After your little one has worn it a few times, you may very well be able to turn around and resell it for a good price, getting some of your money back. That makes the final cost of the item comparable to that of the mainstream brands. This is also a good way for parents who think they can't afford designer clothes for their babies to get very fashionable items, by buying gently used clothes at designer baby clothing consignment shops, and online at places such as e-Bay.

Why Cloth Diapers?

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:30 AM

By Posh Organic

Many moms today are making the choice to use cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers. The numbers keep rising, and more and more new moms are asking the same question, why choose cloth diapers over the convenience of disposable diapers?

First, letโs look at the environmental issues regarding the use of disposable diapers. According to parentingweb.com, in 1990, 18 billion disposable diapers were thrown into landfills in the United States alone! This made disposables the 3rd largest source of items thrown into landfills, with only newspapers and food containers topping the diapersโ numbers. When thinking of this information along with the estimate of 500 years for diapers to decompose, I am saddened to think of what will become of our Earth for our children and grandchildren if we continue to pile on more disposables into landfills.

Of course it is going to take water and electricity to clean the cloth diapers. When you think of how much water it will take to clean your babyโs cloth diapers, we are thinking in terms of the same amount of water used for an adult to flush the toilet 5 to 6 times daily. With that in mind, it is up to you to decide which is worse, every single diaper used sitting in a landfill, or diapers being reused with the same amount of water used as an adult flushing a toilet 5 to 6 times.

Next, letโs look at our babyโs sensitive skin on why cloth diapers are more sensitive than disposables. When using organic cotton cloth diapers, there are no pesticides or chemicals used even in the growth of the cotton. Disposable diapers include the chemical sodium polyacrylate for the extra absorbency we have heard so much about in commercials. This same chemical was banned from tampons in 1985 because of the risk of toxic shock syndrome. This gel-like chemical can be left on babyโs bottom until the next diaper change, irritating babyโs sensitive skin. Not to mention the fragrances and other chemicals used in disposables. If your baby and super sensitive skin, cloth diapering may be an option you could choose to help babyโs skin from becoming irritated.

It is very convenient to have disposable diapers, but if you want to do more to aide babyโs sensitive skin, help in keeping the amount of diapers in landfills down, and have the dedication to cloth diapering, there are many wonderful choices to choose from in todayโs age! No longer do momโs have to worry with a flat cloth diaper and pin, some great choices today include pocket diapers and all-in-one diapers (also known as AIO diapers). Pocket diapers feature a great pocket feature to add more hemp or cloth inserts into the diaper to aide with absorbency. All-in-one diapers have it all, high absorbency, ease of wearing, and there are even stylish choices to choose from!

A Look at Adult Cloth Diapers

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:27 AM

By Steve Valentino

Nearly 20 million Americans have been diagnosed with some form of incontinence, and so it is no wonder that many companies offer adult cloth diapers for relief. For most cases of the disorder, absorption options can be discrete and very effective. Adult cloth diapers are usually made from 100% cotton material that allows the skin to breathe, unlike traditional disposable adult incontinence diapers. You can usually find the cloth versions in both the traditional kind, which must be pinned, and others that are pull-on versions. In either case, when using adult cloth diapers, it will be necessary to also wear a plastic cover to avoid any leakage.

As you can imagine, both cloth and disposable diapers have their benefits as well as disadvantages. One of the strongest arguments in favor of adult cloth diapers is that they are washable, and therefore reusable. If you have a serious incontinence problem, the ability to reuse the diaper may save you hundreds of dollars a year. Once you have purchased the adult cloth diapers and the plastic cover-up pants (to prevent leakage), you can simply wash, dry and reuse them. With disposable diapers, you do not have the option of washing or reusing.

Another positive outcome of using adult cloth diapers, as opposed to using disposable diapers, is lessening the negative impact on the environment. Since we know that some 19 million people in the U.S. suffer from incontinence, the number of disposable adult diapers in our landfills is nearly inconceivable. Eco-friendly people often cite these statistics in their arguing the benefits of using non-disposable diapers.

Every incontinence sufferer will have his or her opinion on which is best. Disposable diapers can be much more convenient and accessible. At the same time, they are more expensive in the long run. Adult cloth diapers can be reused and you are only spending money once to buy your supplies. On the other hand, some people do not believe that they are as convenient and prefer the disposable alternative.

Precious Baby Skin Care Solutions

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:31 AM

By Tom Turner

Having a baby is such a great joy. There is all kinds of excitement in preparing for baby's arrival. You get to decorate a bedroom especially suited for the baby's needs. Baby skin care is an important feature to plan for too. When you are preparing the baby's room, you usually stock up on diapers and clothes, but there are some simple things that you will also need in taking care of the baby's skin. You probably have gone to great lengths to fix up the room. You may even have small hangers to hang the baby clothes up. There are now colored laundry baskets you can place their dirty clothes in along with a unit that eats up dirty diapers. This article will talk about some simple baby skin care that is important for your precious baby's daily hygiene.

Babies are so wonderful. Everyone wants to hold them and kiss them so baby skin care is important in just keeping the baby safe from germs and bacteria. It is a good idea to have people wash their hands with an antibacterial soap before holding your baby. This will help keep your baby safe from catching anything as most little ones like to put their hands in their mouths. Baby skin care begins with a daily bath. Babies should be bathed daily. In the very beginning, you will have to give them a bath by using a soft wash cloth as until the umbilical cord dries up and falls off, they can't get wet. Once the cord falls off, you can begin bathing in water. They have little baby bath tubs that are very helpful. For the best baby skin care preparations, make sure the water is not too hot before placing baby in the water. You will need to remember that babies lose a lot of body heat very quickly, so have their towel handy so you can wrap them up very quickly when finished and make sure you dry them off in every area of their body.

Good baby skin care begins with making sure the baby's diaper is dry. This is one of the biggest problems you may face as they can get wet very quickly and depending on the type of diapers you use, you will need to change their diaper often. If you are using cloth diapers, you will need to check more often than if you are using the disposable kind. There are some good throw away wipes that you can use to wipe the baby's bottom clean. Make sure you clean in all the areas as that area can easily get inflamed and a diaper rash will be the result. You can use a baby powder for best baby skin care results. This will help protect the baby's bottom from staying wet. There are some ointments you can get for your babys skin care if redness occurs.

New baby's have a lot of dry skin, so you will need to use baby lotion or oil for good baby skin care. Do this at least morning and night, but it doesn't hurt to rub a little lotion on their skin when ever you are thinking about it. It also makes them smell good. Another baby skin care tip that is important, is to get a little baby brush to brush the top of their scalp. Many people are afraid to brush the baby's head, but if you don't they can develop what is called cradle cap. You don't need to brush hard, just make sure that when you are combing or brushing the baby's hair that you get all the way down to the scalp area. Apply baby oil on the baby's head frequently for good baby skin care. This will help prevent the build up of dry skin called cradle cap. Keeping your baby clean is the best baby skin care you can do, besides lots of kisses and hugs.

The Facts on Breastfeeding

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:28 AM

By The Perfect Breastfeed
Are you one of the increasing numbers of women experiencing unbearable nipple pain because of breastfeeding?

Did you know that 83% of new mothers experience varying degrees of nipple pain and trauma as well as other lactation problems?

So, don't worry, you are not alone. These problems are thought to be due to the teaching of incorrect breastfeeding methods.

Basically, current teaching involves the mother or others thrusting the baby onto her breast and this is completely unnatural, resulting in the baby being rammed to the breast by the base of the head, neck or shoulder, preventing the baby from vacuuming correctly and causing the nipple to be crushed between baby's tongue and the hard palate.

This is not the mother's fault. It seems that, for all its good intentions, our modern approach has overcomplicated the breastfeeding process and unnecessarily interfered with what should be for most mothers and babies a relatively simple and completely instinctual process. To ๏ฟฝunlearn' this unnatural method, especially with the first and early breastfeeds after birthing, it is suggested that mothers need to first understand a few key points about their newborn. Remember, healthy babies are not as helpless as you may think ๏ฟฝ they are programmed to survive. They are already skilled at drinking the surrounding water before birth

Within minutes of birth the healthy newborn instinctively seeks, attaches and vacuums to the mother's nipple and breast in a natural, harmonious way which allows it to leisurely draw colostrum ๏ฟฝ the first, super-concentrated form of milk that mothers produce. The act of breastfeeding, when done correctly, is also critical in stimulating maternal hormones and milk volume over those vital first 72 hours.

It never ceases to amaze me as I watch a newborn's survival instincts in action ๏ฟฝ minutes after birth, if gently placed skin-to-skin with the mother, facing the breast, the baby's ๏ฟฝrooting reflex' will kick in. This is where they use their senses - smell, taste, sight and touch ๏ฟฝ in order to locate the nipple. The baby will eventually draw the breast and nipple comfortably into their mouth, perfectly and gently molding the nipple and breast tissue inside the oral cavity.

When a mother is focused on her baby, the "love" hormones present just after birth are primed, and without interruption the mother gently guides her baby so that nose, cheeks and chin touch her breast symmetrically.

Once the baby is swallowing symmetry can be fine tuned by slight, gentle movements, improving extension of the tongue, preventing gums pinching and painful ridging of the nipple.

Given that it sounds so simple, you might wonder why you weren't told this beforehand. This has to do with our modern tendency to overcomplicate many natural life events.

Western expertise assumes that newborns do not know how to feed, whereas in fact they have a pre-programmed instinct for it. Your baby already understands what it has to do to feed and the mother's role is simply to gently guide the baby into the right comfortable position for easy access.

Natural breastfeeding allows evolved behaviors to have their play. The baby draws intermittently, swallowing in harmony with the pulsating ejections, taking in breast milk until they reach satisfaction. The baby will then generally stay nurtured in its mother's arms for a while until the important emotional and psychological part of the feed is completed.

The baby always knows how long to feed for satisfaction and emotion. Therefore, timing feeds interrupts this cycle. As a guide it is suggested that the young baby takes approximately one hour, including a rest in between each breast for digestion and a nappy/diaper change.

The very first feed may take up to three hours changing from breast to breast until satisfaction with small amounts of colostrum is achieved.

Basically a baby feeds from the first breast until relaxed and sleepy, and then continues nurturing until slipping off. Afterwards the baby rests and digests, lying stretched out, slightly inclined, in order to help with self burping and the transfer of pre-digested milk into the intestine.

When ready for the second breast, the baby communicates with its arms and legs, and rooting begins again until the baby increasingly vocalizes. The feed continues from the second breast until the baby is relaxed and comes off again.

It's wise to hold the baby upright for a while until the stomach has time to settle. By this stage pre-digested milk from the first breast has transferred to the intestine, allowing milk from the second breast to refill the stomach.

Time and patience minimize gastro-intestinal problems like reflux and colic, which encourages relaxed and healthy sleeping.

Healthy mothers and infants should be able to breastfeed in an essentially painless and low fuss way. Nipple damage, she says, should not be the norm, but a rarity. So relax all you frustrated mothers ๏ฟฝ there is an alternative to the pain and anguish of incorrect breastfeeding methods.

Five cool ways to spend $10 online

Written by Mr.Jongruk on 3:30 AM

By Lauren Phoshif

What are the coolest things that you can buy online for under $10? Not necessarily gift ideas, just great ways to empty those last few dollars from your Paypal.

The traditional goldmine-for-the-weird-and-wacky is eBay. A quick browse will throw up a mind numbing array of pointless cool stuff that you just don't wana have. How about an egg carton stamped with the date 9/11? This piece of ridiculous crap could be yours for a mere $4.44 (eggs not included), and is billed as a "Commemorative egg carton" which will form "part of American history". Okay dokey.

Other eBay treats include a Wal-Mart bag a snip at just $6.50, and a selection of Iraqi bank notes starting at $3.10.

Now let's get serious. How many times have you gazed at a blank iPod or mobile phone screen wishing you'd packed the charger? Step in Arron Dunlop. Arron has built a USB charger out of a used Altoids Gum tin that is powered by any standard 9v battery. This uber-cool device has proved so popular that he's now started selling do-it-yourself kits on his website arrondunlap.com for $9.50. All you need is an Altoids (or similar) tin and you're away.

How about ditching email for a day and sending a letter through the post instead? For those of you who can remember how, why not enclose your letter in a SallyDog.com envelope? These fun envelopes a plastered with messages on the front such as "Adult Diapers by Mail Inc Enclosed is the catalog you requested" and "Herpes Foundation Your test results are in, contact us immediately". Childish I know, but surely a students dream. Remember to forget the stamp to ensure maximum embarrassment.

How about splashing out on some cheap good will? Theonemillionmasterpiece.com are offering you the chance to buy a piece of the world's largest painting in return for a $6.50 donation to charity. The scheme allows you to draw a section of this massive picture online, which will be printed and unveiled on World Population Day 2007 in London (flight not included!).

Still in the mood for giving? Why not get personal and donate to someone in need, or a fictitious scrounger, your choice. At digitalcharity.com you can choose from a whole array of desperate people. My pick of the day would be Michelle, who's looking for $10 to buy a present for a friends baby boy (ahhhh), or the father of three children who's trying to finish his school education. Poor fella, but at least the sex was good.

So let me refresh. Today's list of cool stuff under $10 is:

1) Anything in the Weird Stuff category at eBay

Choosing Baby Bedding Furniture is not as hard as it looks. Granted there are many different types and styles to choose from. But, once you pick your theme and decide what pieces of baby bedding furniture you need for your nursery you have done all the hard work. Now, the fun part starts by checking out all the different brands.

Yes, there are a lot of brands, but if you want to make it really easy find a reputable dealer on the internet and shop from your computer. You could go to your local brick and mortar store look around their showroom, but you will probably still end up viewing catalogs to find your selection. With an internet store, it is very easy to navigate and you will probably have a larger choice of baby bedding furniture from a number of manufactures. And, with the high price of gas these days, it will be cheaper to keep the car parked and shop from home.

The first thing you will need for a newborn is a bassinet followed almost right away with a baby crib. And, dont rule out the baby changing table. This additional piece of furniture will make your life a whole lot easier when you have to change your babys diaper. Keep your babies change of clothes close by, preferably in a drawer or on a shelf at the baby changing table. You dont want to have to let go of your baby even for a split second. So, clothes and diapers within arms reach is very important.

When choosing your baby bedding furniture dont try to skimp on quality. You want the best quality furniture that you can afford. You want it to last, and you want to be able to easily clean the parts when they get dirty and you want snaps to snap properly and locks to lock properly and safely.

Since you are shopping on the internet take time to go to your favorite search engine and do a search on the product your are interested in. Read review sites, go to forums and maybe ask other people who have bought the product you are interested in. This way you will find people that have experience and can honestly tell you any problems or complaints they might have. Stick to a reputable store, do a little research and you wont have any problems.

Those who use adult diapers are usually individuals who battle with issues like bedwetting, incontinence, urinary problems, pregnant women who need to urinate often etc. Depending on the reason that a person uses a diaper, one must change it at different intervals. But long and frequent wearing of a wet diaper leads to skin rashes also known as diaper sores.

When a person is at home and is suffering form any illness, their diapers are usually changed by those who take care of them. For some handicapped and invalid people it is decided that diapers must be changed at fixed times by the caretaker like after naps, after meals, etc. others feel that diapers must be changed, not at specific timings, but simply whenever it is required to. This again, depends solely on the comfort and schedule of the user. A lot of people suffer from diaper rashes, which are sores that develop on their sensitive areas, which are in constant contact with the diaper. It is advisable for such people that they change diapers as soon as the diapers are soiled. In case of those using diapers because of bedwetting, they can change the diaper just before going to bed and then as soon as they get up in the morning. In case a person is caught in a situation where he/ she cannot change diapers as often, it is wise to use diapers that are more absorbent.

To avoid any kind of inconvenience caused by skin rashes and irritation caused by the odor of soiled diapers, many people opt to use baby oil on their buttocks and sensitive areas. They may also use some special cream, salve or balm to get relief from the irritation while they are changing their diapers. After changing diapers, they must be disposed carefully with the garbage if they are disposable.
